Faith at Nazareth
Nazareth has a strong commitment to faith and service. Our students study the Gospel, the teachings of Christ and the charisms of the Xaverian Brothers. They internalize these values, not only to better themselves, but also to leave a positive imprint on the world. Not every student in our community is Catholic, but we teach tolerance and respect among the differences of societies ethnic, racial and religious populations. All students feel welcomed, respected and appreciated. Nazareth has annual retreats for each grade level, including service trips overseas.

Retreats

Retreats are an integral part of our Campus Ministry Program. These programs are led by members of the faculty and trained student leaders. The program encourages students to explore questions of personal faith, build community, and have prayer experiences appropriate for adolescents. Each student is required to participate in an annual retreat.

On-Campus Prayer Services

A student liturgy committee plans several school-wide liturgies throughout the year. The entire student body, faculty and alumni participate in liturgies marking Thanksgiving, Christmas, Lent, and Easter. Seniors and their parents are invited to a graduation liturgy that celebrates and welcomes them into the alumni family.

Eucharistic Ministers

Seniors who are Catholics are invited to participate in a diocesan training program for Eucharistic Ministers. These students minister to the sick at local hospitals and they also serve as Eucharistic ministers at school liturgies and in their parishes.

Serving the Community

The Nazareth Regional High School Volunteer Program requires each student to complete 50 hours of community service by graduation. The goal of this program is to deepen the students’ personal development through increasing self-awareness, nurturing self-actualization and confidence, and encouraging them to be responsible.
