A day of learning and sharing
On April 18, 2024, Nazareth transformed the gym and various classrooms into a day of learning and sharing for all its students. Over 350 of Nazareth’s students heard about career experiences, opportunities, and tips for success through panels and Career Activity Workshops.
Twenty-one alumni, parents and volunteers representing various careers joined with Nazareth’s energetic and supportive faculty to provide the students with a true learning opportunity.
In the gym, career panels were conducted for both upper and lower classes at separate times where panelists discussed why they chose their field, what the joys and challenges of their job were, and imparted wisdom for our students to draw from in choosing their own paths. The Freshmen/Sophomore panel was moderated by Madison Adams ’26 Roshaun Callum ’26, while the Junior/Senior panel was moderated by Jaylen Jean-Pierre ’24 and Breanna Pierre-Toussaint ’26.
Students also rotated through 50-minute classroom sessions where they were exposed to the practical elements of interviewing, resume building and professional attire. In addition to the presenters’ sharing their experiences, students were provided with templates and best practices to help them learn these practical elements. Many noted that these skills can be applied today as students begin to interview with colleges or seek summer or part/time employment.
The administration, faculty and staff noted the importance of giving Nazareth students experiences that would not normally get in showing his appreciation to all the presenters. Among the presenters many noted that they “wished” they had a day like this when they were in high school! All were looking forward to Career Day 2025 at Nazareth!
