At Nazareth Regional High School, we understand that private education is a significant investment. We are committed to working with families of all financial backgrounds to make a Nazareth education accessible. Through financial aid, scholarships, and flexible payment plans, we provide options to help families manage tuition costs.

Payment in Full Discount: Families who pay the full tuition by August 15, 2025, will receive a $250 discount (not applicable for scholarship or financial aid recipients).

Sibling, Alumni & NYC Employee Discounts:

  • $1,000 sibling discount
  • $750 Catholic Academy & Alumni discount
  • $500 discount for NYC employees(must provide a valid work ID)

If paying in full, please notify the Business Office by June 1, 2025. Late registrants must enroll in the FACTS system within two weeks of registration.

Financial Aid & Scholarships

Nazareth Regional High School is dedicated to making tuition affordable for families in need. Need-based financial aid is available through our Tuition Committee, which reviews applications based on demonstrated financial need.

How to Apply for Financial Aid:

  • Complete an application through FAIR (Financial Aid Independent Review)and submit all required documents, including federal tax returns and W-2s. Go to https://fairapp.com/
  • Families mustpay the registration fee before applying for financial aid.
  • Financial aid is only applied to tuition(not registration or graduation fees).
  • Financial aid cannot be combinedwith other tuition discounts.
  • Applications must be renewed annuallyfor continued assistance.

We encourage families to apply as early as possible to maximize financial aid opportunities.

Academic Scholarships

Nazareth Regional High School is proud to offer academic scholarships to incoming freshmen who demonstrate strong academic ability, leadership, and service to others. Scholarships are awarded based on performance on the TACHS exam or Nazareth’s Scholarship Exam, as well as the student’s academic record, application, and letters of recommendation.

How to Qualify

Students are automatically eligible for scholarship consideration if they:

  • Take the TACHS examand meet the qualifications set by Nazareth’s Tuition Committee.
  • Take Nazareth’s Scholarship Examand demonstrate commendable academic performance.

Scholarship Exam Dates:  
Students who did not take the TACHS exam may take Nazareth’s Scholarship Exam on April 8, 2025 from 6pm-8pm

Scholarship Requirements

Scholarships are awarded for four years but are subject to review each semester. To maintain their scholarship, students must:

✅ Have no more than 5 absences per year
✅ Follow all Student Handbook Guidelines

Nazareth Catholic High School Scholarship Program (“NAZ CARES”)

The NAZ CARES Scholarship Program was created to help Catholic elementary school students who wish to attend a Catholic high school but need financial assistance. Each year, the Principal of a Catholic middle school may nominate one student for this scholarship.

Class of ’67 Scholarship Fund
The Class of 1967, have gifted funds to Nazareth Regional High to create the first Endowment for the purpose of funding scholarships with the interest. Mr. Franzese and S. Gandley have campaigned tirelessly to encourage their class to donate towards the newly founded endowment. Creating a legacy of future scholarship opportunities for students in need.

Charlie and Nora Reiter
This dedicated scholarship fund for financially needy students was established in 2020 by the Thomas More Project to recognize Charles L. and Nora Coakley Reiter for their exceptional work in Catholic education as teachers and leaders. Nora served as President of the Board of Trustees and Director of Religious Education in Catonsville and Charles served as Principal of Nazareth High School. The interest of this fund is used to support needy students.

Lady Bavetta Family Scholarship
The Lady Bavetta Family Scholarship is awarded to two deserving rising female students with financial need.  These young women will have high moral standards, display academic excellence, and be involved in the Nazareth athletic program in some way.

Dick Bavetta is a long-time professional basketball referee for the NBA, active from 1975 through 2014 and holding the record for most officiated games.  Born in Park Slope, Brooklyn, he got his start officiating games for the Catholic High School Basketball League.  His two daughters, Christine and Michelle, both attended Nazareth Regional High School.  The family awards the Lady Bavetta Family Scholarships in their honor.

Brooklyn Benevolent Society Scholarship
The Brooklyn Benevolent Society is a foundation that has supported Roman Catholic education in New York City for over 60 years.  They provide scholarship and financial aid to students in need that are attending Catholic schools.

Brother Matthew Burke Scholarship
This scholarship fund has been created to provide financial assistance to students of Nazareth meeting the following criteria:

  • Must be a current Junior at Nazareth RHS
  • Have a financial need
  • Have a minimum GPA of 85
  • Be involved in activities that promote community/service to others/Christian faith
  • Demonstrates strong values and respect and inclusion of others
  • Commit to take action, exhibit a passion for learning and achieving
  • Focus on non-athletic achievements
  • Nominees will submit an essay, 2 pages maximum, on the following topic:

“Building Bridges after Nazareth (to discuss such issues as the path the student would like to pursue, their current and future interests, and how they can serve as bridges in other people’s lives to make a positive difference).”

Cathedral Club
The Cathedral Club Scholarship Program is comprised of Roman Catholic professional and business leaders of Brooklyn and Queens.  The Club annually sponsors many religious and social activities, including a scholarship program.  This program aids needy, deserving students at Catholic High Schools in the Diocese.

Nazareth has been selected to participate in the Cathedral Club Scholarship Program and will be gifted a $12,000 award, over a 3-year period which is paid directly to the school, on behalf of a student who has successfully completed their first year and has shown educational progress.  In addition, financial need must be established.

Catherine McAuley Scholarship
Catherine McAuley High School closed its doors in 2013, yet the McAuley Spirit is very much alive!  The alumnae continue to contribute to that fund and offer a scholarship to a Nazareth young lady to assist with tuition.  To preserve McAuley’s legacy, the alumnae of McAuley High School recognize a female Nazareth student who has shown extraordinary Mercy and Compassion to others.  Catherine McAuley told her sisters: “There are three things the poor prize more highly than gold, tho’ they cost the donor nothing; among these are the kind word, the gentle, compassionate look and the patient hearing of their sorrows.”

A special thanks to the family of Laura Malone McPartland McAuley class of ’44 has given an annual leadership gift to the Fund.  Laura was a member of McAuley’s first graduating class, and her daughters, Christine and Laurette are also graduates.

Chris Thomas Scholarship
The Chris Thomas Scholarship Fund has been available since 1980.  These monies are given every year to a worthy rising senior at Nazareth in the memory of a fellow Alum Chris Thomas ’77, co-captain of the 1977 Basketball Team, who left us too early due to a tragic automobile accident in 1979.

Donald Kennelly
The Donald Kennelly Scholarship was created by Nazareth’s Board of Trustee member James Kennelly in honor of his late father.  The scholarship’s purpose is to provide tuition assistance to promising upper classmen with financial need to help them toward achieving their goals of attending Catholic colleges and universities.

Michael Gordon Foundation Scholarship
Established in 1991, the Michael Gordon Foundation, Inc. provides aid to children under the age of 18 in the areas of health, education, and welfare.  An immigrant from Hungary, Mr. Gordon became a successful businessman.  He established the foundation to give something back in gratitude for the opportunities he discovered in America.  Mr. Gordon passed away in 1998 leaving behind a legacy of inspiration and support to young people.  Michael Gordon Grants are awarded to students who exhibit financial need.

Nazareth Cares
A collaborative scholarship opportunity extended to Catholic Middle School Principals.  The Principal must select and offer the Naz Cares Scholarship to an exceptional student of their choice, within their school, who may not otherwise be able to afford to attend a Catholic secondary high school.  That student can not be currently registered for the upcoming school year at Nazareth or any other Catholic High School.  The student must demonstrate great academic effort, be honorable and humble, exude the charisms of the Catholic Church and want to take advantage of the opportunity of a great education at Nazareth Regional High School.

In 2022-23 school year, the family would be responsible for the one-time registration fee of $400 and a portion of the tuition which comes out to be $5,000 per year.  This scholarship would be granted for 4 consecutive years by maintaining an 80 average and abiding by all the guidelines that are stated in the Student Handbook.

Blanco Family Scholarship
The Blanco Family Scholarship is a full-tuition award to one student.  This is the opportunity of a lifetime to attend Nazareth Regional High School and receive all that it has to offer.  The scholarship is given to an incoming freshman with financial need.  The ideal candidate would be an 8th grade student who has success in the classroom and exhibits leadership qualities in athletics and after-school activities.

This scholarship’s goal is to give the recipient the full high school experience.  That means in addition to the tuition, that student will be afforded many of the opportunities available at Nazareth, from the field trips and activity fees, to SAT Prep classes at the school as they prepare for college.

The recipient of the Blanco Family Scholarship will be required to maintain a minimum of a B average for the four years, have an exemplary disciplinary record, in addition to participation in after-school activities.

Mr. Paul Blanco is a graduate of the class of 1985, where he was a standout athlete in football, baseball, and track.  Along with his wife Mindee, the Blanco family have created this scholarship as part of their commitment to and belief in the quality of education provided by Nazareth Regional High School.

Detective Dennis Murphy Scholarship
Members of New York City Police Department, who had served in the 67th Precinct during their careers, raised funds to be gifted to individuals in need. In 2021, the members of this Committee, decided to make a donation to Nazareth Regional High School, in memory of Detective Dennis Murphy.  Detective Murphy was born and raised in the East Flatbush community and was a graduate of Nazareth High School. He spent most of his police career in the 67th Precinct, first as a patrolman, then as a detective. Detective Murphy passed away in 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer which he developed following his tireless relief efforts after the events of September 11th..  Detective Murphy was always the first to help others, and through this gift the hope is that his legacy will live on.

Sharon Patrick Shining Star Scholarship
Sharon Patrick is a member of Nazareth’s Board of Trustees who was the most instrumental and influential figure in Nazareth’s 2012 campaign to save the school.  With a passionate belief in inner-city Catholic Education, Sharon Patrick’s scholarship provides full tuition for a student with extraordinary financial need who can be a “Shining Star,” at Nazareth.

Student Sponsored Program (SSP)
Student Sponsor Partners (SSP) is a nonprofit organization that helps NYC students reach their highest potential by providing:

  1. Partial scholarships to private, college-preparatory high schools
  2. One-on-one mentorship throughout high school
  3. Supplemental academic programming, including college and career prep, to boost student success during and after high school

Please review the eligibility guidelines below and submit your application with your $35 fee before January 15, 2022.  We encourage applications be submitted as soon as possible.  Spots for Nazareth are limited.

Once you open our application, select Nazareth as your high school choice.  If you are selected, SSP will notify you directly.

Qualifications:

  • Entering the 9th grade in September 2022
  • Annual income of $12,000 or less per household member (i.e., Family of four: $48,000).
  • Final 7th grade GPA must be between 70-85%.
  • Attendance record cannot exceed 15 absences and 15 lateness in 7th grade.
  • No major disciplinary infractions or behavioral comments.
  • TACHS exam highly recommended.
  • Must attend Orientation and Summer Readiness Course (if accepted).
  • Must be willing to work with a mentor for four years.
  • Guardian must contribute $800 every year for tuition and about $1,000 in school fees.
